If you know me, you will know how much I love taking pictures. I carried my CANON S95 every where, and often I used my iPhone to take a photo. iPhone has a very decent camera. It takes a nice photo in a low-light situation. I like to share moments and interesting things through my photography. I share my photos through Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and even in my blog. One of my favorite application that I have been using is Instagram. I like this application because it provides me with ton of photo effects and it is easy to share my photos on Twitter and Facebook.

For those who do not use iPhone, you will not have Instagram to view my photos. However, I use Inkstagram to share all of my Instagram photos on the web. So, now you can view all of my Instagram photos on my Photography page!! Don’t forget to check it out!

Great Flood in Thailand

I experienced great flood in Bangkok once when I was a kid, but the devastating floods in Thailand are now just unbelievable. When I see pictures that Thai people share on Facebook, Twitter, and blogs, I can’t help but feel sorry for victims. This is probably one of the biggest disaster in Thailand’s history.

Floods are coming to the area where my parents’ house is located and expected to pass through this area before flowing into the Gulf of Thailand. This is scary!!! I really hope the flood would go somewhere else or leave minimal impact to our area.

Let’s take a look at our great lessons learned from this disaster. These pictures were collected from multiple sources. Thanks everyone for sharing!

Another Year in Mobile

Honestly, I did not plan to celebrate my birthday this year because I had so much things to work on my dissertation. It sounded pathetic, but I had to do it. I had no choice. Brandon insisted to throw me a party. He arranged a dinner with friends of his and mine at Fuego restaurant.

I decided to go because I felt like this could be my last year to celebrate my birthday in Mobile. Also, I wanted to show my appreciation to our friendships.I’m graduating soon, and I have no clue of what is going to happen in the next few months.

All in all, thanks to Brandon who has always been good friend to me and thanks to all of my friends who came to the dinner party.

Flourless Japanese Souffle Cheesecake

ได้เวลาทบทวนสุตร Japanese Souffle Cheesecake กันแล้ว แต่เที่ยวนี้ มีการดัดแปลง เพราะว่าไม่ต้องใส่แป้งเค้กเลย สูตรก็ไม่มีอะไรมาก จำง่ายๆ

creme cheese 1 แพ๊ค
ไข่ 4 ฟอง แยกไข่แดง ไข่ขาวด้วย
ครีมออฟทาทา 1/2 ช้อนชา
น้ำตาล 60 กรัม แบ่ง ออกเป็น สองส่วน ครึ่งต่อครึ่ง ก็จได้ 30 กรัมไว้ใส่กับครีมชีส อีก 30 กรับไว้ตีกับไข่ขาว

แค่นี้เอง…สูตรไม่เยอะ วิธีทำก็ไม่ยาก อบออกมาแล้วแบบว่า ฟูฟ่อง นุ่มเหมือนฟองอากาศ ฮ่าๆ….

ไปดู มือโปรเค้าอบกันได้ที่ แม่สลิ่ม และ หลั่มหมั่นเหม่ง

เดี๋ยวจะบอกสูตรไม่ลับให้ จะได้เอาไปลองทำ แบ่งกันชิม

ก่อนจะเริ่มทำอะไร เราเอาถาดพิมพ์มาเตรียมก่อน ไม่ต้องทาเนย ทาน้ำมันอะไรทั้งสิ้น ใช้กระดาษไขปูที่ก้นและรอบด้าน
อุ่นเตาที่ 325 F
เอาครีมขีส ออกมาตัดเป็นชิ้น จะได้ใช้เครื่องตีมือ ตีง่ายหน่อย แต่ถ้ามี Kitchen Aid ก็สบายหน่อยเนอะ ค่อยๆตี คอยปาดขอบ ด้วยจะได้ตีได้ทั่วๆ
ค่อยๆใส่น้ำตาล ส่วนแรก 30 กรับ ลงไปตี พอเนียนแล้วค่อยใส่ไข่แดง ทีละฟอง ตีไปเรื่อยๆ จนเนียน คอยปาดก้น ปาดขอบไม่ให้มันติดเป็นก้อน
พักจากตีครีมขีส เราก็มาจัดการตีไข่ขาว …อย่าลืมล้างและเช็ดที่ตีให้แห้งก่อนล่ะ
ตีไข่ขาวจะเบอร์ต่ำก่อน พอฟองเริ่มขึ้น ทะยอยใส่ ครีมทาทา ตีไปเลย จะฟองเริ่มขาว เริ่มฟู
ทยอย ใส่น้ำตาล ทีละส่วน จนหมด และไข่ขาวตั้งยอด
ตีต่ออีก 2 นาที ด้วยความเร็วต่ำเพิ่อไล่ลม
เทส่วนไข่ขาวลงในส่วนครีมชีสที่ตีไว้ก่อน หรือจะเอาครีมขีสมาใส่ก็ได้ แล้วแต่ถนัด แต่จะต้องทำแบบ เบาๆ ไม่ให้มันยุบมาก
คนตะล่อมๆ พอให้เป็นสีเดียวกัน
เทใส่พิมพ์ แล้วเอาไปอบ
อบนาน 40 ถึง 60 นาที พอ 30 นาทีก็ลองเช็คหน่อยละกันว่า ข้างหน้าจะไหม้ไปหรือป่าว ถ้ามันสีเริ่มเข้มไป ให้เอาแผ่นฟอยด์มาคลุมไว้
ใช้ไม้จิ้มฟัน จิ้มลงไปเพื่อดูว่า ตรงก้นสุกหรือป่าว ถ้าจิ้มลงไปแล้วไม่มีอะไรติดขึ้นมาแสดงว่า สุกแล้ว

เมื่อวานทำเส้นใหญ่ราดหน้าหมู แน่นอนไม่มีผักเขียวๆเลยซักชิ้น รสชาดเข้มข้นดี แบบว่าเค็มได้ที่เชียว เผอิญใส่เต้าเจี้ยวมากไปนิด ตอนทำร้อนๆเค็มกำลังดี พอทิ้งไว้แป๊บนึง ออกเค็มไปซะละ

Bread Making

This was my first attempt to make bread without a bread maker machine or even a Kitchen Aid Mixer! I found several recipe wrote in Thai. Some of them said that using the machine was unnecessary. So, I thought I would give it a shot and made pigs in a blanket! A good thing about making bread was lesser ingredients than baking cakes.

Recipe:
Bread flour 150 g
Cake flour 100 g
Dry yeast 1 teaspoon
Sugar 35 g
Salt 1/2 teaspoon
Dry milk 20 g
Warm water 150 g
Egg 1
Butter (unsalt) 35 g
hot dogs

Let’s see how it turned out!

Mix everything together and let it sit for an hour

Only 8-10 min in the oven

Applied butter on them

Umm…umm..umm

Not bad for a newbie like me!

Ingredients for bread making were not a lot, but it took a half day to prepare it. So, maybe it would make the whole process a lot easier if I had a bread maker machine! I should get one huh? LOL!

Atlanta Weekend

This weekend I went to Atlanta for a visit. I went to CNN studio and World of Coca-Cola. I had a great time even though this was not my first time visiting there. I used iPhone to take a few photos when I had a chance. Let’s take a look!

วันนี้ครึ้มอกครึ้มใจ อยากกิน snow crab legs ก็เลยลงทุนขับรถไป Biloxi, Mississippi ปกติจะไปทานกันที่ Imperial Palace แต่คราวนี้เปลี่ยนบรรยากาศมาทานกันที่ Beau Rivage ข้างในตกแต่งงดงามอาหารก็อร่อยใช้ได้เลยทีเดียว ได้กินกุ้ง กินปูสะใจกันไปเลย ของหวานก็มีเยอะแยะให้เลือกมากมาย ปูก็หวานมันอร่อยดี สรุปแล้วอร่อยไม่แพ้ Imperial Palace

White Mocha Frappuccino

ช่วงนี้แวะไป Starbucks บ่อยนิดนึง เพราะไปติดใจเมนูนึงเข้า อากาศยิ่งร้อนๆอยู่ พอได้ดื่ม Frappuccino ปุ๊บก็ชื่นใจทันที หรือที่เราเรียกเป็นภาษาไทยว่า นํ้าปั่น นั่นเอง

จริงๆแล้วคําว่า Frappuccino ไม่มีอยู่ในพจนานุกรมหรอก มันเป็นคําผสมที่สร้างขึ้นมาและก็เป็นคําที่ได้จดทะเบียนไว้แล้วด้วย ภายใต้แบรนด์ Starbucks นั่นเอง

Frappé + Cappuccino = Frappuccino

และ frappuccino นี่ก็เป็นเมนูยอดฮิตในช่วงหน้าร้อนทําให้ Starbucks ได้พยายามทําโปรโมชั่นไว้มากมายเลยทีเดียว โดยการสร้างเมนู frappuccino ไว้หลายรูปแบบให้ลูกค้าได้เลือกตามใจชอบ และเมนูที่กอล์ฟชอบมากที่สุดในเวลานี้คือ white mocha with creme base frappuccino รสชาดประมาณเหมือน นํ้ามะพร้าวปั่นแต่จะหวานมันกว่า ฮ่าๆๆ ยังไงถ้ามีโอกาสได้แวะไปที่ Starbucks ก็ลองสั่งมาชิมดูนะครับและมาบอกด้วยว่าเป็นอย่างไรบ้าง
