After being tested as a Beta version for a while, Microsoft finally sets the date to officially release the new operating system, Windows 7, on May 5. According to eWeek, the releasing version will have several different features from the Beta one. The Windows 7 UI sports many new task-oriented features, such as Aero Peak, Jumplists and the new Taskbar. End users can reorganize open applications and pin them to the Taskbar. Applications cannot pin themselves, which deters the kind of icon clutter common to the desktop. Windows 7 outperforms its predecessor by most every measure. Boot-up and resume times are quite speedy compared with Vista. Application switching is smoother and faster, too. Wireless connections are faster, applications launch quickly and security features protect with much less nagging.
Here is the cath — Windows 7 won’t install over Windows XP. The software must be installed clean, or over Vista, and data and settings migrated from XP.
So.. I’m not sure if we will have to buy a full license. Microsoft hasn’t announced pricing for Windows 7. Businesses opting for the Enterprise edition will need Software Assurance. It’s reasonable to expect Home Premium and Professional editions to be priced comparably to Vista Home Premium or Enterprise.
A few of my friends have been using Windows 7 and they all love it very much. The most important thing that they praised about was the speed – a lot faster than Vista. I do hope it is faster!! Vista is way slower than XP.

Wash your hands more often!! This is getting more serious!
“Felony stupidity” was what Fran Townsend, a former Homeland Security adviser, referred to the incident happened in New York yesterday.
New Yorkers started to panic when noticing a jet flying very low nearby the Twin Towers which got terrorist attack in 9/11 incident. People screamed, run, and cried because they thought this was another terrorist attack. In fact, this jet was the aircraft which functions as Air Force One when the president is aboard. The purpose was to take part in a classified, government-sanctioned photo shoot. The president wasn’t on the this Air Force One.
The news reported that the president Obama was furious about it. Finally, someone stepped up and took the full responsibility.
Hmm…This is a bad judgement to do something like this! Thanks God … nobody got hurt from panic attack.
Now there is a new flu going on in Mexico and now spread to the United States. The new strain of flu that has killed up to 60 people in Mexico and infected eight in the US (CA and TX). The news also reported that there’s evidence of possible human-to-human transmission going on. So, please be careful!! A normal detector cannot detect this type of flu. You have to be very cautious.

This is real! I have read or seen pictures of this type of card skimmer, but that was from forwarded email. I know it is still happening in Thailand. It seems this kind of criminal incident happens everywhere! So, for those ATM card users, please be careful.
I found a story about a guy caught the ATM card skimmer attached before the real ATM card reader. This card skimmer will read your ATM card and record all the information into a flash memory attached in the back. It happened at a local WaMu bank. Please see pictures below.
When inserting your ATM card to the machine, please be careful. If you see that it looks suspicious or it looks like the card reader is not belong there, contact a cop and notify that local bank immediately.

Yahoo has feature this article from New York Time. Randy Polumbo renovated his Mojave Desert house with rocks and steel and filled it with stuff the people don’t want or use anymore (or you can call “trash” haha).
It’s not as bad as you think, is it? Let’s take a look inside
The owner and house builder of this trash house, Mr. Polumbo, works as a high-end contractor in Manhattan. Mr. Polumbo has a good point of view when he mentioned that the phrase “green construction” generally refers to the latest technologies and costs a fortune. I totally agree on that. I mean “green construction” sounds like it will cost you much, but no. The recycle materials are so expensive, especially for those saving-energy technology. It easily costs you a fortune!
He also has interests in casting glass from bottles and telegraph insulators he found in the desert into different shapes. He’s so creative! You can read more about his interview and watch a video clip by clicking here

For real this time, you can purchase an iPhone 3G without contracts for $599 (8GB) and $699 (16GB) at Apple stores. Apparently, Apple is trying to clear out old inventory. I got this news from CrunchGear blog
This is a very intelligent move for British scientists who invented a robotic fish to detect pollution in the sea. According to Yahoo news, this picture has just released on March 20, 2009 although the picture was taken in October, 2005. This robotic fish will be released into the sea off north Spain. It moves just like real fish, it is equipped with chemical sensors to sniff out potentially hazardous pollutants, such as leaks from vessels or underwater pipelines. The robotic fish in this picture is just a sample. The one that they are going to release into the sea is about 1.5 meters.
Recently, I also read the news about a robotic human in a fashion show. I guess in a few years we will see more robotic animals and humans more often. Who knows!
