Nokia N97 is Coming

by

The latest Nokia cell phone in N series is coming soon. The N97 will pack with ton of features. This model is a bit different from others in the same series. The N97 can slide on the side! Take a look at the preview.

 PC World reported that

the N97 will cost$699. Nokia did not confirm an official launch date for the U.S.. However, in the U.K. the phone will be available on June 19 at the company’s flagship stores, so it is safe to assume that the New York and Chicago Nokia stores will carry the phone around the same time.

Also, you can pre-order an N97 as of today from Nokia’s website, in either black or white.

The N97 features a 5-megapixel camera, 32GB of on-board storage (expandable with up to 16GB via microSD), GPS, and a full QWERTY keyboard. The N97 is set to battle-it-out this summer with the Palm Pre (coming on June 6) and Apple’s new iPhone.

iPod with Camera

by

It has been a rumor that the next generation of iPod will come with a digital camera. Cnet reported that there’s a good chance that the next generation of iPods will be outfitted with basic cameras. It could be on either Shuffle or Nano!

Palm Pre is Coming Soon

by

One of the new coming cell phone that people have talked about the most is Palm Pre. Palm Pre will be available June 6 for about $200 with 2-year contract from Sprint. The Palm model is released to compete with iPhone with the similar functionality and capability such as a large capacitive touch screen, Wi-Fi, 3G, GPS, 8 GBof storage, and Bluetooth.

The review from Gizmodo.com stated that the Palm Pre is much smaller than what you think. It’s as big as an iPod classic, but is not as thin as iPhone. The hardware and compartment are high quality, but the shape and design are not there (Uhhh.. I totally agree with that! hahaha).

Skype Unlimited Country

by

Skype offers 25% off discount when you sign up a 12-month subscription for the unlimited country plan. This is a great deal. Normally, Skype will charge you 5.95 per month for this plan and 12.95 for the Unlimited World. There is a small difference between the Unlimited Country and Unlimited World. For the Unlimited Country plan  you will have to select only one country for the unlimited call. If you have the Unlimited World, you can have unlimited call to any country (that Skype offers a service).

For some countries, Skype allows you to make a phone call to a cell phone with no additional charge. So, you can either call a land-line or cell phone from either Unlimited World or Unlimited Country plan. However, only Unlimited Country subscription that is on SALE now. It ends TODAY!!

Especially, it works out great for me because I call Thailand a lot. Now, Skype offers unlimited calls for both land-lines and cell phones for Thailand. The quality of service is way better than my phonecard purchased from BanKhaNom Thai.

Skype even adds couple bonuses. You can get a Skype ToGo number which allows you to make a local phone call to connect to the Skype Hub/Sever before connecting to the destination. But, of course you will lose your air time if you use your cellphone to make a phone call. However, it allows you to make a phone call anytime and anywhere you want without using a computer with the Internet connection. How convenient!! In addition, you can get a free Voice Mail service too.

This is the best deal ever!

Surprise! Surprise! It’s a brick and rocks!

by

I found two different news happened in two places, but they share the same kind of trick. Yesterday, I read news about a lady from Florida purchased a new Nintendo DSi for $138 from Walmart. She bought it as a birthday present for her son. When her son opened the box, they both were shocked because there was NO DSi in the box. Instead, the box filled with rocks wrapped in the latest Chinese newspaper. She went back to Walmart and complained about the shocking incident. Wal-Mart initially refused to take the rocks back, deferring to Nintendo, which did the same. Ultimately, Wal-Mart gave in when it was discovered that not only was the box full of rocks, it was full of rocks that had already been returned to the store by a previous customer. The store ended up giving her a refund and a gift certificate for $20. I guess Walmart wants her to buy a planter or vase to fill up those rocks.. hahaha!

Another news I read today was similar to the Walmart incident, but it happened at Best Buy. A customer purchased a MacBook Pro for $2164.89, and when he got home, he learned that it was only a red brick packed with bubble wrap inside the box. He went back to the Best Buy store and talked to the manager who was not willing to help at all. In addition, the manager claimed that Apple sealed the box and there was nothing to do with Best Buy. Therefore, Best Buy will not be responsible for this incident.

OMG… it’s pretty obvious that Best Bust looks guilty!!  So.. people.. please remember to check your laptop, notebook, MacBook, etc at the Best Buy store before you leave to make sure there was no brick in there!!

Curving Through The EDGE

by

I would like to write a quick review on my BlackBerry Curve 8900 or Javelin. I have been using it for about two weeks now. I still cannot find anything that I don’t like about it. I absolutely love everything about it. I have been downloading several program and themes to pimp my Curve the want.

Here is a quick list of what I like or what I can do with the Curve:

1. I can online 24/7 on my phone.

2. Email, SMS, and MMS work like a charm.

3. I can fully customize on the ring tone.

4. Alarm clock is very useful – there is an option to choose not to alarm on the weekend (How smart is that!).

5. Speakerphone is awesome – loud and clear.

6. Media player and music player are not bad at all for the business phone. I can watch movies too.

7. I can watch YouTube through either Wifi or EDGE with no problem and delay.

8. I don’t have any problem with keyboard. It’s pretty comfortable for me.

9. Battery life is good. It can last for two day and I’m a heavy user.

10. The resolution on the screen is incredible.

The list can go on and on… hahaha

Anyhow, the website that I found very resourceful and  useful is CrackBerry. If you have a BlackBerry, you definitely need to bookmark this website. Let me know if you have any question regarding Curve 8900!!

LEGO sculpture of the Nintendo DSi

by

Look closer… it’s LEGO! I have the Nintendo DSi exact color as the one in the picture above.

Now, the LEGO is displaying at the Nintendo World Store at Rockefeller Center in New York City.

This sculpture of the Nintendo DSi was created to coincide with the release of the real Nintendo DSi on April 5, 2009. The sculpture is nearly 7 feet wide and contains 51,324 LEGO pieces. It took over 200 hours to create and weighs over 250 pounds.

You can get your picture taken with the DSi in New York!

Thai on Curve 8900

by

Yeah… my new BlackBerry Curve 8900 can read and type in Thai now.

Thanks for those who did the tutorial on PDAMobiz.com

At first, I got the error message “App Erro 220″, and all I could do was to reset the phone. So, I had to reconnect the phone to the computer and used BB desktop manager to install everything new. Wheeeeww.. I thought I had to send the phone back!

Oh.. GOOD NEWS! Now, T-Mobile reduces the price for new customers. BlackBerry Curve 8900 is now only $150 with (of course) 2-year contract.

Mini vs. Micro

by

I’ve just realized now that there are two different small USB ports, called “Mini USB” and “Micro USB.” Which one is smaller? I let you decide.

The Micro USB, however, is the newer technology which has been used in mobile or cell phone technology. Mini and Micro both look very alike. If you look closer, you will notice that the Micro USB is a bit different; it looks similar to a wire fire port, but of course a lot smaller. It’s good to know, isn’t it? So, you don’t mix up when you are trying to charge your cell phone or digital camera.

iPhone without a Contract

by

For real this time, you can purchase an iPhone 3G without contracts for $599 (8GB) and $699 (16GB) at Apple stores. Apparently, Apple is trying to clear out old inventory. I got this news from CrunchGear blog
