Stone Garden
We finally finished cleaning up the garden past weekend. I am very happy with the result. I love it!! It is clean and simple, just like how I have imagined. Can you guess how many bags of marble stone we used? 135 bags of white + 15 bags of red stone!! The marble stone bag was very heavy. It was a good workout LOL!
We did very well…I think. We finished everything up within 2 hours. This area is about 400 sq.ft!!
Now all I need to is to add some green plants!
Cleaning Day
It’s time to clean up the exterior of the house by using power wash. It turned out not bad at all. The deck was also cleaned up. All I need to do is to stain it and hopefully I will look like new.
The garden was also cleaned up and ready to put landscape fabric. Unfortunately, we couldn’t do the stone garden this weekend because Lowe’s couldn’t deliver my orders on Friday due to the storm. I will have to wait until Monday.
The kids who are going to help me put the stones can work only on the weekend. So, we have to postpone it to the next week!
Let’s take a look at the pictures of what I have done so far with the house.
Stone Garden Project
I decided to clean up the garden. This is going to be my new project to create a stone garden. It looks pretty bad now. Luckily, I have helpers to finish the project with me. Tomorrow we are going to start killing weeds first, and then working on the project this weekend.
I stopped by Lowe’s a few times to look around and bought 150 bags of stones. I also picked up a few planters. I’m not sure at this point what I’m going to plant. I sketched some plans. We will have to see this weekend how things go.
IKEA in Thailand
IKEA is coming to Thailand!! What a good news for Thai home owners who love to decorate houses with styles in affordable and inexpensive way. IKEA is a world-wide home product store where you can find furniture, accessories, bathroom and kitchen items, and everything about home product. The main concept is IKEA offers a flat-pack design furniture at affordable prices.

Where does the name “IKEA” come from? IKEA was founded in 1943 by Ingvar Kamprad in Sweden and it is owned by a Dutch-registered foundation controlled by the Kamprad family. IKEA is an acronym comprising the initials of the founder’s name (Ingvar Kamprad), the farm where he grew up (Elmtaryd), and his home parish (Agunnaryd, in Småland, South Sweden) (Source: Wiki)
Here are some cool and famous product:

How will it happen?
Siam Future Development Plc (SF) yesterday announced a joint venture with foreign and Thai partners to develop a 10-billion-baht home furnishing centre that will bring the long-awaited IKEA brand to Thailand. Bang Na will be the location!!
Construction will start at the Mega Bang Na complex in the third quarter of this year and the centre is scheduled to open by October 2011, said SF chief executive Nopporn Witoonchart. (Source: Bangkok Post)
My 3D Bedroom
I have been playing around with Sketch Up software developed by Google company for a while. Although I’m not like an expert on it yet, I think it’s pretty convenient for users to develop something in 3D. I used Sketch Up to draw a layout of floor plan in order to help me develop a better vision to make a decision where each furniture should be placed. It is not as hard as you think. You should try it. On top of that, it’s a FREE software.
Pictures below are examples of what I did in Sketch Up. There is a feature which allows you to download free 3D models from Google 3D search engine. I’m trying to sketch to get an idea of my bedroom layout. Since I don’t have much time to design my own furniture, I decide to download everything and put into the room. The furniture style and color might not cohesive, but at least it gives me an idea where to put my bed, closets, desks, chairs, etc. It took me about 1.5 hour to complete everything from scratch.Click image to enlarge.

Favorite Colors
I’m helping my mom and dad re-design our new house (in Bangkok) where they are moving to within 2-3 months. Here are scanned pages from catalogs and magazines. I love all the colors and cannot decide which color should be painted for the living room or my bedroom. Hmmm…

One Year Anniversary
Yeahh.. today, it’s fully one year that I’ve moved into my very first own house!! I’m so proud for what I have done so far to the house. It’s coming together just like the way I have wanted. Whoo hoo.. It’s one year anniversary.. baby!

Pom Pom Maker
I got these Pom Pom maker from Hobby Lobby. They are on sale like 30%-50% off. I use them to decorate a Christmas Wreath. Next year we probably will try to do ornaments and hang them on the Christmas tree.

New Sofa Seats
These new sofa seats are handmade (I paid someone to do it). They fit perfectly and care-free because they are 100% cotton. The pattern of the fabric is just OK, but the color is perfect. What do you think?
