This Sunday November 1st Hello Kitty will turn 35th!! Can you believe that she is that old? Now, Sanrio is celebrating her birthday in Los Angeles.

 

 

Sanrio claimed that they made about 5 billion dollars annually!! Everybody loves her even she doesn’t have a mouth to talk.. hahaha

 

After making a brief appearance on the German T-Mobile website a week ago, RIM has finally made the BlackBerry Bold 9700 official. Also known as the Onyx, the device is an upgrade over the BlackBerry Bold 9000. This is the one that people have talked about the most and been waiting for!!

 

I read some rumors saying that it will be selling around mid November for $199 with 2-year contract.

 

 

 

The phone runs on the latest BlackBerry OS 5.0 and features the optical track pad – first seen on the Curve 8520. The phone will go on sale by November on the AT&T and T-Mobile networks in the US. Other country specific launches will be coming very soon.

Disney has stepped up their games, by initiating a new project called Keychest. As we know, how much technology has been advanced these days and how much technology has influenced in our life including our kids. Now, most Five-year old boys or girls can operate computer or use the Internet faster and better than some adults!! Disney has noticed that!

 

 

Disney is readying a technology that would let viewers pay a one-off fee for permanent access to a movie or TV show across multiple devices. Keychest would let children or anyone watch on anything from a TV to an iPhone, or via cable. The content wouldn’t actually be downloaded; instead, in a could computing-like model, it would reside with the service provider, cable company or phone company. When the movie is purchased, the user is given an access key. In the mean time, Disney is in talks with a number of technology partners and try to get the project going.

Is this some kind of marketing strategic or what? Apple always pulls some smart marketing publicity from their hats to make people oohh.. and arrhhh.. Yeah.. I literally did make those sounds once looking at Apple’s updated products like iMac, MacBook, and Mac Mini. Apple knows that Microsoft will release Windows 7 this week and this is expected to be huge too. I guess that’s why Apple has decided to announce their new upgraded lines of products two days before Windows 7 release. I must say.. it DID work! Apple really stole the spotlight from Microsoft. Don’t you think?

 

Apple is still able to keep the price same as the previous model which will get even more attention from buyers. Let’s take a look real quick on these products. I will highlight some interesting changes for you.

 

iMac

 

- Apple’s new iMac line consists of two, 21.5-inch and two, 27-inch displays.

- All four models feature edge-to-edge glass that covers pretty much the entire front of the enclosure.

- LED-backlit displays with a 16:9 aspect ratio.

- The 21.5-inch iMac features 1920-by-1080 HD resolution. On the 27-inch iMac, the same port also provides input, which lets users connect any external source that has DisplayPort output, including a MacBook or MacBook Pro, and use an iMac as a display.

- SD card slots built in.

- 4 USB 2.0 ports and a FireWire 800 port.

- Come with Apple Keyboard and new multitouch Magic Mouse.

- Price starts at $1,199

 

MacBook

 

- The 13.3-inch glossy wide-screen

- LED-backlit display has a wide-screen resolution of 1280 by 800 pixels.

- The entire multitouch trackpad acts as the button

- built-in lithium-polymer battery offers the longest MacBook battery life ever — up to 7 hours on a single charge, and can be recharged up to 1,000 times, which is good for about five years of typical usage.

- MacBook comes standard with 2 GB of memory and a 2.26-GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor.

- Built-in iSight camera and mic with iChat software added.

- Price starts at $999

 

Mini Mac

 

- Offer three upgraded models with 160-GB, 320-GB or an optional 500-GB hard drive.

- The entry-level Mac mini is fairly inexpensive by Apple standards at $599, and has a 2.26-GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 2 GB of DDR3, 1066-MHz of memory, a 160-GB hard drive, five USB 2.0 ports, FireWire 800, Nvidia GeForce 9400M integrated graphics and a SuperDrive

- The $799 model features a 2.53-GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 4 GB of memory and a larger 320-GB hard drive.

- There’s also a brand-new Mac mini with Snow Leopard Server preinstalled — instead of a SuperDrive, there are two 500-GB hard drives for supersized storage.

 

In additional to those upgraded lines of products, Apple also has released a new multi-touch mouse. It looks awesome!

“This is it” – just like the latest single from Michael Jackson. Today, the latest version of Microsoft Operating System, Windows 7, has officially been released. I’m very excited about it. I really do hope it has a lot improvement from Windows Vista.

 

I have waited for too long since I placed an order on Amazon during the Stimuls week for “half-price” ! .. And, I already did inform you through my Blog. So, don’t blame me if you don’t know anything about this. LOL! I’m expecting to get it for the next few days. I will update how the upgrade goes once I have it installed on my Sony laptop.

Tweeducation: Twitter กับการศึกษา

 

ช่วงนี้หัวข้อที่คุยกันเป็นเรื่องเป็นราวมากในหมู่คนไทยที่ Tweet ก็คงจะเป็นเรื่อง การตลาดนั่นเอง #mkttwit ผมเองก็ไม่ถนัดไม่เคยเรียนด้านบริหาร การตลาด ก็ไม่รู้จะ tweet อะไรเกี่ยวกับเรื่องนั้น ส่วนใหญ่เลย tweet เรื่องอื่นๆ ซุบซิบดารา เทคโนโลยีใหม่ๆ ข่าวการเมือง ต่างประเทศบ้าง เศรฐกิจนิดหน่อย แล้วแต่โอกาส ฮ่า

 

เรื่องที่เห็นจะชัดที่สุดตอนนี้เท่าที่สังเกตคงจะเป็น การใช้ Tweet หรือ Social Network มาช่วยในการตลาด ทำนองนั้น อ่านดูก็น่าสนใจดี แต่ก็ไม่ได้ใส่ใจอะไรเป็นพิเศษ เพราะอย่างที่บอกไม่ใช่ทางของผม ผมอยากเห็นคนอื่นพูดคุยกันในเรื่อง การศึกษามากกว่า เพราะว่า ผมเป็น Instructional Designer ถนัดด้านการใช้เทคโนโลยีเพื่อส่งเสิรมและออกแบบการเรียน การสอน แต่ก็ยังไม่เห็นใครเริ่มมุ่งประเด็นมาทางนี้ อย่างว่าล่ะ เรื่องเงินๆทองๆ ก็ต้องสำคัญที่สุด ฮ่าๆ ไม่เป็นไร เราขอใช้หลักการพื้นฐานด้านการตลาด คือ “เน้นความต่าง” มา brand ตัวตนของ golffy อิอิ ดังนั้น blog นี้จะขอเขียนเกี่ยวกับ การใช้ Twitter เข้ามาช่วยในการเรียนการสอน ในมุมมองของผมเอง Blog นี้ไม่ใช่ article แต่เป็น การรวมรวม ประสบการณ์ ความคิดความรู้ ที่มี มาถ่ายทอดให้ผู้อ่านลองคิด ต่อยอด แล้วนำไปใช้ นะครับ

 

 

ผมเชื่อว่า Twitter สามารถนำมาประยุต์เป็นเครื่องมือในการเรียนการสอนได้ครับ ผมขอสรุปหลักการที่เป็นข้อๆ จะได้ชัดเจนลงไปเลย

 

1 Twitter เป็น social networking tool ตามหลักทฤษฏีการเรียนรู้ (Learning Theories) แล้ว การเรียนรู้ด้วยกันเป็นกลุ่ม (Social Learning) จะเกิดผลให้คนเรียนๆรู้ได้เร็ว จำได้นาน แล้วนำไปประยุกต์ได้ดี โดยเฉพาะเด็กเล็กจะได้ผลดีมาก อ้างอิงได้จาก ผลงานและผลการทดลองที่มีต่อเนื่องมานานแล้ว

 

2. Twitter ใช้ concept ทั้ง Pushing (Following) และ Pulling (Follower) เทคโนโลยี ความรู้ส่งให้ถึงผู้เรียนได้รับโดยไม่ต้องค้นคว้า (push)  และในทางกลับกัน ผู้เรียนก็สามารถค้นคว้าหาความรู้เพิ่มได้ ถ้าความรู้ที่ส่งมายังไม่เพียงพอ (pull)

 

3. Twitter มี Search by Topic ซึ่งสามารถใช้เป็น Inquiry approach ในการเรียนรู้ Inquiry Approach หรือ หลักการแสวงหาความรู้ อยู่บนพื้นฐานหลักๆที่ว่า คนเราจะเรียนรู้ได้ เข้าใจได้ และจำได้นานก็เมื่อ เราค้นพบและเข้าใจสิ่งเหล่านั้นด้วยตัวเอง จะทำให้มีความหมายต่อเราและทำให้จำสิ่งนั้นได้นานๆ

 

เมื่อรู้หลักการหลักๆที่อยู่ด้านหลังการใช้ Twitter แล้ว และเราจะเอาไปประยุกต์ใช้ในห้องเรียนได้อย่างไร ก่อนอื่นครู อาจารย์ หรือผู้สอน ก็ต้องถามตัวเองว่า จุดประสงค์หลักของการใช้ Twitter อยู่ที่ใด บ่อยครั้งที่ผู้สอนจะสับสนชิวิต ไม่แน่ใจว่า ความรู้ที่ต้องการถ่ายทอด กับ เทคโนโลยีที่ต้องการจะใช้ อย่างไหนสำคัญกว่ากัน สิ่งไหนเป็นตัวนำพา เหมือน idiom ของฝรั่งที่พูดว่า tail wagging the dog

งงไหมนั่น คุณคิดว่า สุนัขกระดิกหางเพราะตัวมันต้องกระดิก หรือว่า หางมันทำให้สุนัขต้องกระดิกหาง เอาไว้เปรียบเปรยประมาณว่า a situation where a small part is controlling the whole of something เอาส่วนที่ไม่ค่อยสำคัญมาเป็นปัญหาใหญ่ หรือ ทำเรื่องเล็กให้เป็นเรื่องใหญ่นั่นเอง

 

แทนที่จะเอา Twitter มาใช้ทำให้การเรียนการสอนให้ราบรื่น ง่ายขึ้น ทำให้เด็กเรียนรู้ได้มากขึ้น กลับกลายเป็นการทำให้นักเรียนต้องทำกิจกรรมเพิ่มโดยที่ไม่ได้เรียนรู้อะไรเพิ่มเติมเลย จะขอยกตัวอย่างหลักๆ เลยนะครับ เห็นแว็บๆ บนTwitterของนักเรียนไทย คือผมก็ไม่เข้าใจจุดประสงค์ของผู้สอนนะครับ แต่จะลองยกตัวอย่างกิจกรรมนึงที่ผู้สอนสั่งให้นักเรียนไปทำ คือ สร้าง account twitter ขึ้นมา และก็ต้อง following จำนวนคนเท่านี้ และก็ต้องมี จำนวน follower เท่านั้น แล้วก็จะได้คะแนน เอ๊ะ…แล้วอย่างนี้ผู้เรียนจะได้อะไรหรือ? ผู้เรียนก็จะได้เรียนรู้วิธีการใช้ Twitter นั่นเอง แต่ไม่ได้สาระอะไรนอกเหนือไปจากนั้น เพราะมัวแต่ ขอร้องให้คนมาเป็น follower ให้หน่อย

 

ผมว่าน่าจะเอา Twitter ไปประยุกต์ให้มีประโยชน์ได้มากกว่านี้ เช่น ผู้สอน สร้าง Trending Topic ขึ้นมาในหัวข้อนั้นๆ แล้วให้นักเรียน มาเป็น Follower ผู้สอน กำหนด ช่วงเวลาที่จะ tweet ตกลงกับนักเรียนว่า ช่วงไหนเหมาะสม มันต้องมีซักวัน ที่ตรงกัน แต่ผู้สอนอาจจะเปิดหลายช่วงหน่อย จากนั้น ก็ให้ผู้เรียนที่เป็น Follower นั้น discuss ในหัวข้อนั้นๆ ทำให้นักเรียนสนุกกับการใช้ Twitter โดยอยู่ในกรอบ และการควบคุมของผู้สอน น่าจะเหมาะที่สุดสำหรับนักเรียนไทย

 

ทังนี้ทั้งนั้น Twitter เป็นเทคโนโลยี ที่ยังใหม่อยู่ ยังไม่มีนักวิชาการคนไหน ทำการวิจัยผลการทดลองว่า จะนำไปประยุกต์และได้ประโยชน์ตอนผู้เรียนมากน้อยเพียงไร นี่ก็เป็นเพียงแค่ แง่คิด พอให้เป็นแนวทาง ใครสนใจก็ไปลองทำงานวิจัยตรงนี้ก็ได้นะครับ

เนื่องจากไม่ได้เขียนเป็นทางการจึงไม่ได้มีการอ้างอิงหนังสือ หรือ article อะไรเลย หากสงสัยจุดไหน ถามได้นะครับ ผมสามารถบอกอ้างอิง หรือวิธีไปหาอ้างอิงเพื่อสนับสนุนความคิดของผมที่เขียนขึ้นมานี้ได้ หากมีคำถามอะไรก็สอบถามได้เช่นกันครับ ที่ #tweeducation

I’ve been very active in Twitter lately. At the beginning I didn’t have many people to follow or people to follow me, so I didn’t care much about it hahaha. Now, I decide to jump in and give it a try. It isn’t bad at all. It was fun and interactive. There are more available tools out there to help you tweet easier. You can post images easily and fun.

 

What do I tweet about? I usually tweet about everything…whatever came to my mind or whatever I found it interesting and would like to share. Technology has advanced so quickly. Now, there are some application that integrate all Internet Social programs together. For example, I can update my status on Facebook and the application will update my status on Twitter also. How cool is that? Or, when I’m writing a blog, the application will let me choose if I want to update either Twitter or Facebook, or both. Things get easier for me to share or update information.

 

I can learn so many things or receive up-to-date information from Twitter. News can be spread out so quick on Twitter. Especially, when you can read or tweet from your BlackBerry. I use UberTwitter to receive and tweet from my BB, and use TweetDeck to use on desktop. Both software applications are awesome!
