I’m still in the process of changing the third bedroom to a guestroom/home office. I decided to go fo bright yellow to give engergy and to light up the room… HAHAHA…

For those who don’t know what Project Runway is about, this show is about talented fashion designers who can not only design clothes, but also sew the dresses in limited, given time. They have been thrown to all kinds of weird challenges. The last designer will also win $100,000 to start his or her own clothing line.

This is the BIG finale for Project Runway season 5. They are still in court fighting over who will have the right to continue airing the show. As planned, this is supposed to be the last season of Project Runway on Bravo TV. The next season should (or will) be on Lifetime channel. I’m not sure if that is the better move. The judge still cannot make the decision whether Brovo or Lifetime will get the show. Why fighting? – because the company which produced the show made somewhat agreement (or get higher paid) to sell the show and move to Lifetime channel. Of course, Bravo will not let that slide easily. Project Runway is money-making show for the past 5 years.

Anyhow, I’m rooting for Leanne!!! She should and will WIN!

พึ่งไปเขียน blog เกี่ยวกับ Instructional Design ไว้ที่เว็บ gotoknow.org ก็เลยอยากมาโพสต์ในนี้ด้วย ก็เขียนทั่วไปเกี่ยวกับพื้นฐานหลัการของ Instructional Designer

พื้นฐานสำคัญของ Instructional Designer คือต้องมีความเข้าใจว่ามนุษย์คนเรามีการเรียนรู้อย่างไร หรือที่เรียกว่า Human Learning เป็นวิชานึงของด้าน Psychology จะว่าไปแล้ววิชานี้เป็นวิชาหลักเลยก็ว่าได้ทีเดียว เพราะสิ่งที่ำสำคัญที่สุดของการเป็น IDer คือ หาหนทางหรือแนวทางถ่ายทอดความรู้เพื่อให้ผู้เรียนได้จดจำ เข้าใจ และนำความรุ้ไปประยุกต์ใช้ในชีวิตประจำวันได้

เราก็ต้องมาดูกันว่า คนเราสามารถเรียนรู้กันได้อย่างไร นักจิตวิทยา นักวิจัย ได้ทำการทดลองทดสอบมามาก สรุปโดยคร่าวๆ ว่า การเรียนรุ้ของคนเราแ่บ่งได้ 3 วิธีด้วยกัน คือ Behaviorism, Cognitivism และ Constructivism กอล์ฟคงจะไปไม่อธิบายลึก เพราะคิดว่าเป็นพื้นฐานหาอ่านได้ตามหนังสือทั่วไปละ แต่จะขอเขียนถึง การประยุกต์เข้าทาง ID

เมื่อพูดถึง Behaviorism ควรจะนึกถึง Passive learning คือ การเรียนรู้ด้วยวิธีการซึมซับข้อมูล ตัวอย่างคือ อาจารย์เขียนๆๆพูดๆๆ นักเรียนจดๆๆ ฟังๆๆ อย่างเดียว อาจารย์ถ่ายทอด นักเรียนเป็นผู้รับข้อมูลอย่างเดียว

ส่วน Cognitivism กับ Constructivism จะคล้ายกันคือ Active learning ข้อแตกต่างระหว่าง Cognitivism กับ Constructivisim คือ สำหรับ Constructivism ผู้เรียนเอา้ข้อมูลเนื้อหาใหม่ที่ได้รับประยุกต์เข้ากับความรู้และ ประสบการณ์เดิมแล้วสร้าง (keyword นะครับ construct แปลว่าสร้าง) เป็นความรู้ใหม่ที่มีความหมายความเข้าใจของตัวเอง Cognitivism ก็จะเน้นการใช้เทคนิกในการเรียนรู้เพื่อเพิ่มความสามารถการรับรู้ข้อมูลของ สมองคนเรา

Robert Gagne เป็นบุคคลสำหรับในด้าน Instructional Design หลายคนยกให้เป็นเจ้าพ่อ ID เลยก็ว่าได้ ชื่อเขา หลายคนอ่่านผิดกันมากมาย ฝรั่งอ่านว่า “โรเบิร์ต เกนเย” รับรองอ่านตามนี่ไม่ผิดไม่ต้องอายด้วย ฮ่าๆ

คราวนี้ กอล์ฟอยากจะถามผู้อ่านว่า ระบบการศึกษาของไทยเรานั้น เน้นแบบไหนในสามแบบนี้ หรือเป็นแบบผสม และ ก็อยากจะถามว่า แล้วตัวคุณเองล่ะ จากมุมมองผู้เรียนรู้ คุณชอบเรียนรู้ในรูปแบบไหน

นี่เป็นประสบการณ์ และก็ข้อมูลจาก research ที่กอล์ฟศึกษามานะครับ คนอเมริกัน หรือ ฝรั่ง จะเน้น Cognitivism กับ Constructivism เป็นส่วนใหญ่ในการถ่ายทอดความรู้ให้นักเรียน เขาถือว่า การเรียนรู้อะไรก็ตามที่มาจากการค้นพบหรือการมีส่วนร่วมของนักเรียน จะทำให้นักเรียนจดจำได้นานกว่าและเข้าใจถึงการประยุกต์ความรู้ได้ดีกว่า นักเรียนที่นั่งฟัง นั่งจด ไม่มีการโต้ตอบกับครู เขาบอกว่า ครูควรทำหน้าที่แค่ Facilitator or Guide เท่านั้น เพื่อชี้แนะแนวทางการเรียนรู้ ไม่ใช่ Lecturer หรือผู้ที่บอกเลคเชอร์ให้นักเรียนจด

แต่ตรงนี้ต้องระวังนิดนึง สำหรับ Constructivism วิธีนี้จะใช้ประยุกต์ยากหน่อยเพราะว่า structure ของการสอนจะหลวมมากส่วนใหญ่เน้นให้นักเรียนคิดเองทำเอง หากนักเรียนไม่มีความรู้ในเนื้อหานั้นๆ อาจจะทำให้เกิดความสับสนกังวล และอาจจะไม่อยากที่จะรับรู้เนื้อหาเลยก็ได้ ดังนั้น การใช้ Constructivism ต้องขึ้นอยู่กับสถานการณ์ ลักษณะวิชา และนิสัยของผู้เรียน

การเข้าใจ Human Learning กอล์ฟคิดว่าสำคัญมากๆ คุณครูควรถามตัวเองว่าที่นักเรียนสอบตกเพราะอะไร เพราะวิชามันยากไป หรือถ่ายทอดไม่ถูกวิธี ควรลด Passive learning แล้วเน้น Active learning มี research มากมายได้แนะนำ Activity ต่างๆที่สามารถใช้ในห้องเรียน หรือ Training ทั่วไปได้ คุณครูควรเปิดกว้างในการนำเสนอเนื้อหา ไม่ควรปิดกั้นตัวเอง แล้วหยุดอยู่แค่ PowerPoint Lecture

ส่วนตัวนักเรียนเองก็เช่นกัน ควรทำความเข้าใจกับตัวเองว่า ตัวเองเป็นคนที่เรียนรู้แบบไหนได้ดี มี Cognitive Learning Strategies มากมายที่นักเรียนสามารถเอามาใช้ เพื่อช่วยให้จดจำเนื้อหาบทเรียนได้เร็วขึ้น จำได้นานขึ้น แล้วเอาไปประยุกต์ใช้งานได้ ไม่ควรท่องเป็นนกแก้วนกขุนทอง ตัวอย่าง cognitive strategy ที่เราเห็นบ่อยกันมากที่สุดคงจะเป็น การขีดเส้นใต้ เน้นข้อความสำคัญ นอกจากนี้ นักเรียนบางคน เอาจจะเอาเนื้อหามาแต่งเป็นกลอน เป็นเพลง เพื่อให้จำข้อมูลได้ดีขึ้น ก็ได้ หรือ จะวาดภาพ diagram, chart ก็ช่วยอธิบาย concept ได้ด้วยเช่นกัน การเขียนบทสรุปบทเรียน ก็เป็นอีกวีธีนึง เห็นไหมครับ มี cognitive learning strategy มากมาย

ไว้จะหยิบยก theory หรือไม่ก็ นักวิจัย Theorist ชื่่อดังในด้าน Instructional Designer ให้ได้รู้จักกันว่าเราสามารถนำ theory ต่างๆไปประยุกต์ในด้าน Instructional Designer ได้อย่างไร

Wow…. this is the second week on the first spot for the movie Beverly Hills Chihuahuas. They have made about 52 million dollars for 10 days.

This movie is produced by Walt Disney and all about chihuahuas! I haven’t seen this movie yet, bu I might go to see it tomorrow night. Can I bring Enzo too? hahaha I better not… because he would bark for the entire movie. Every time the commercial of this movie was on the TV, he would jump up and down and bark so loud. I’m not sure if he liked them or hate them. Enzo should be proud for them, right?

แหม หลายครั้งหลายคราทีเดียว เวลากลับเมืองไทย หรือมีคนถามว่า เรียนจบอะไรมา หรือเรียนอะไรอยู่ กอล์ฟก็จะบอกว่า จบโท Instructional Design และก็ต่อเอกสาขาเดิมอยู่

คนฟังก็จะทำหน้า…เหรอออ…. Industrial Design? – กอล์ฟก็ตอบว่าไม่ใช่ นั่นมันออกแบบสินค้า วัสดุ ผลิตภัณฑ์และรูปลักษณ์องค์กร

บางคนก็ เข้าใจว่า ออกแบบบ้าน เหรอ? – ไม่ใช่ๆ นั่น Interior Designer

Instruction Designer ประกอบด้วย สองคำ Instruction + Designer

Instruction คือ สื่อการสอน ส่วน Designer คือ นักออกแบบ ดังนั้น Instructional Designer คือ นักออกแบบสื่อการสอน นั่นเอง

แต่คำนี้ฝรั่งใช้คำอื่นแทนด้วย ฝรั่งบางคนก็จะใช้คำอื่นแทนเช่น Instructional Technology, Instructional System หรือ Instructional System Designer  ทุกคำมีความหมายสื่อถึงสาขาเดียวกัน สาขานี้ อยู่ใน College of Education แน่นอน เพราะเกี่ยวกับ การเรียนการสอน อีกบทบาทที่สำคัญ คือ Technology นักออกแบบสื่อการสอน ได้มีการทำการวิจัยมาเป็น สิบๆปี แต่ละยุคก็มีการใช้เทคโนโลยีเข้ามาประยุกต์ เพื่อช่วยในการออกแบบสื่อ หรือ นำเสนอเนื้อหาวิชา

สาขานี้ไม่ได้เจาะจงเฉพาะ ครูเท่านั้นที่เรียน หากแต่สามารถประยุกต์ในวิชาชีพอื่นได้หมด นักออกแบบสื่อการสอน จะสามารถช่วยอบรม บุคคลากรในองค์กรนั้นๆ หรือ ช่วยวิเคราะห์ วินิจฉัยปัญหาขององค์กรนั้นๆ และช่วยหาทางแก้ไข อีกทั้งช่วยเพิ่มประสิทธิ์ภาพระบบขององค์กรได้อีกด้วย ในส่วนนี้บางคนก็จะเรียกแยกออกไปว่าเป็น Performance Technology คือการใช้เทคโนโลยีช่วยพัฒนาองค์กรให้มีประสิทธิภาพมากยิ่งขึ้น

นี่ก็เป็นเพียงแค่ บทสรุปของนิยาม คำว่า Instructional Design ในแบบฉบับของกอล์ฟเอง มีคำถามอะไร สอบถามได้

I think around couple weeks ago T-mobile has announced G1 Android Phone. It’s the first Google cellphone.

Guess what…I haven’t bought a new cell phone yet. I’ve been waiting too long for Nokia E71 Silver/White to come out, so when it did, I don’t want it no more. Ha Ha Ha… Let’s take a look at new Blackberry Storm.

Verizon has announced the very first touchscreen Blackberry!! Yes..it has touchscreen keyboard.. just like iPhone. This model comes out to compete the iPhone. You will decide it is the one or not.

Gizmo has already gave a hands-on review to it. They even called “iPhone Killer!”… wow… I’m sure it is a killer because I don’t see any special features in iPhone except nice interface and touchscreen. It’s expected to hit the market in November.

Still, I don’t think I can get this phone because I’m still under T-Mobile contract until next year….dayummm!

Alice in wonderland is a classic. Everybody must read the book or see the move. There are so many versions, but in 2010 we will see Tim Burton’s version. For those who don’t know Tim Burton’s work, think “DARK”! HAHAHA… He have very strong visual when it comes to his movie style.

His examples of well-known works include:

• Edward Scissorhands
• The Nightmare Before Christmas
• Sleepy Hollow
• Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
• Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street

So, his dark, scary, mysterious work will give Alice in wonderland an interesting twist because we all know that Alice in wonderland is about kid’s adventures (just like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, I found this movie a bit scary… LOL). Of course, Johnny Depp will be in this movie too.

He’s just started the production and announced that Ann Hathaway will join the cast as White queen.

The crews are:

• Mia Wasikowska as Alice
• Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter
• Helena Bonham Carter as the Queen of Hearts
• Anne Hathaway as the White Queen
• Matt Lucas as Tweedledum and Tweedledee
• Eleanor Tomlinson as Fiona Chataway, an unfriendly girl Alice knows before she falls down the rabbit hole.

Can’t wait to see it!
