Friendship Bread
My co-worker, Brittany, gave me a piece of bread called “Amish Friendship Bread.” Yummy…It’s moist and not too sweet.
You probably are curious like me that why she called friendship bread. This concept has been known for a long time, Michelle (another co-worker) added. Think about the concept like “Chain Letter.” Yep… you pass the bread to your friends and your friends can pass to someone else.. on and on…
According to Wikipedia, Amish Friendship Bread is a type of sourdough starter being a substitute for baking yeast and being used to make many kinds of yeast-based breads, shared with friends, or frozen for future use. The sweet, cake-like Amish Cinnamon Bread is a common bread that is made from this starter; it is a simple, stirred quickbread that includes a substantial amount of sugar and vegetable oil, with a mild cinnamon flavor. It has characteristics of both pound cake and coffee cake.
Brittany added extra ingredients to it to make it her own. she added nuts, raisin, etc. Based on the recipe I got from Brittany, it will take 10 days to make the bread. At day 10th, you will be able to separate the batter as a “starter” for your friends to make the bread. You can give away up-to three friends (one cup for each), and your friends can do the same as you to later give away three additional friends for each starter.
This sounds fun!! She’s going to give me a starter!! I will post the recipe when I have the batter.
Wonder Girls
I watched Wonder Girls’ new released single Nobody music video by chance, and I loved it. I found the MV very funny, sexy, and rock!
So, who’s Wonder Girls? They are Korean KPOP girl band. WG are found and produced by singer-songwriter Park Jin-Young and are signed to his talent agency. They became popular in the fall of 2007 year with the song “Tell Me.” (Wikipedia)
